PHILLY

Our trip to Philly was an amazing experience.  I learned a lot and it was very inspiring to see the artists pursuing their passions.  I saw beauty and inspiration built into the building, and a passion in all of the artists that I've never seen before.

Orenda

Orenda: a supernatural force believed by the Iroquois Indians to be present, in varying degrees, in all objects or persons, and to be the spiritual force by which human accomplishment is attained or accounted for.

Sparked Ideas

Record words and phrases that speak to you in public places

I took this photo in Baltimore and it really spoke to me because you take an ordinary object like a No Exit sign and the create a completely different message.

Finding Red White and Blue

,
I didn't go searching for these flags I found them on a whim.  I saw them as I was doing other things but also had this assignment in the back of my mind.  It was interesting to see that once I was thinking about it, how many flags I noticed just in my everyday life.

Camera Obscura

Making a Camera out of a Room?!
By blocking out all of the light in an enclosed space such as this room and having a small inlet of light you can essentially create a camera out of anything. We set up trash bags to cover the windows and cut a small hole in one.  The light goes through the hole and creates an inverse image on the opposite side of the room.  We took long exposures of the opposite walls to create a bright image. This is the process and the result of our project!

The Unexpected

It is dusk.  A stranger is driving around the countryside utterly lost.  Eventually he comes to a tiny inlet.  The place is deserted apart from a little man sitting on a rustic fence.  The stranger winds the window down and asks for directions.  The little man removes his peculiar battered hat, places it upside down between his knees, scratches his head, and without looking up begins.

"It's like this," he says.  "You take the first right, the third left, the second right, pass over the bridge... and then you see..."

Light the Wheels

This post is in response to the prompt 'hamster wheel'.  I took this as something that you try so hard at but you don't get anywhere.  I wanted to use the light to represent what someone is working towards and how far away that they can be.
